Set in the rolling hills of Hollister right off California State Route 152 you will find Casa de Fruita. Ever since the first roadside fruit stand opened up in the 1940’s by three teenage brothers it has become a traveler’s destination to take a break during their travels from place to place. Open seven days a week from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Check the website for current hours if we remember correctly they do change depending on the season.
They offer everything from a fruit stand (with more than just fruits and vegetables), a sweet shop, a coffee shop, a restaurant, kids activities, a gas station, and an RV park.
This is a collection from several stops, every time we pass by we stop. Sometimes twice on the way to where we are going and on the way home from where we are going. It is one of our favorite places to stop and take a break from traveling. We always have to pick up some pistachios and dried figs.
