1776 Shelter Island Dr. San Diego, CA 92106 – Website
A small place on a pier on Shelter Island in San Diego lends way to a magical place to have a wonderful bite to eat or brunch on the weekend. There is limited seating inside and some seating outside. So plan on placing your order to go, or bring some chairs and find a place along the pier to sit and enjoy your meal as you listen to the ocean.
We stayed at a hotel a few blocks from the location, which became my daily lunch stop while hubby was at his work conference. There are enough choices to have something different each day for a few days and be happy each time. They will tell you that it will take some time to make your meal, and understandable because everything is housemade and made to order. There’s lots to look at here from the nautical decor to the calmness of San Diego Bay to keep you occupied while you wait for your order. Be sure to spend some time and read the signs throughout, they will give you a chuckle.
Everyone you interact with at Fathoms from the person who takes your order to the person cooking your order is friendly and always has a smile, you can tell that they all enjoy where they work.
Brunch is on the weekends from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM serving yummy fair including $3 Mimosas, $1 Bloody Mary Shots, and $1 off all beers. We were able to catch brunch on Saturday before we left the area to travel to the next destination of our trip.
