490 S Center St Reno, NV 89501 – http://www.nvdm.org
This is another cute little place in Reno, it is a great place to bring children, they would have had more places around like this when our boys were younger. But even though we did not have any children with us it was fun to walk around and play with all the interactive exhibits. A hands-on science center designed to spark visitors’ curiosity—regardless of age. The museum boasts 67,000 square feet of ever-changing galleries, and exhibits focused on science, technology, engineering, art, history, and invention, all designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and the joy of lifelong learning in all who visit.
Admission is $13 for adults, $11 for youth ages 1 to 17, and $12 for seniors. The Discovery offers a discount of $1 off general admission per visitor for groups accompanied by a Veteran or Active-Duty military. Hours vary so we suggest checking the website and conforming their hours on the day you’re visiting. There is also a museum store located inside the museum.
They do not have as many hands-on exhibits as we have seen at others, but there is a cool play structure with a water feature around it in the middle, packed with kids playing or we may have tried to go through it. But if you are looking for a fun little place to visit this, is it. Be prepared there will be a lot of children running around, and unfortunately, not all of them will be attended by an adult at all times.
