420 S Sierra St Reno, NV 89501 – http://eatatpegs.com/

We have heard about Peg’s for years, with reviews from well-known celebrities, so we were excited to dine here for breakfast. But to be honest there is nothing that stands out about it. The place is busy and honestly, the location is too small for the traffic they receive. Everyone is crammed into the place and it is so loud you can barely hear anyone you are sitting with making it difficult to enjoy your time there.

They are open from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm daily. The kitchen is an open kitchen concept that is right inside the front door. There is some counter seating around the kitchen, then the rest of the dining area is booths and tables.

When we arrived, we were shuffled to a back corner by a door with a little waiting area set up. People who had arrived after us were seated before us giving us the feeling of being overlooked and that they were locals and being given priority with they were having friendly conversations with staff and other diners as if they had known each other for years. Finally, after a bit of a long wait, we were seated.

As soon as we were seated the hostess/waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered coffee and orange juice and within a few minutes, the drinks arrived and she immediately asked what we wanted to eat, we had barely sat down and had time to look at the menu. Now after waiting and being looked over with getting our table, we felt like we were being rushed out the door.

Food came quickly after ordering. But the entire time while having food, the waitress didn’t even bother to check on us, we had to wave someone down to get water since we never saw our waitress again after our food arrived. When we were done eating, and still had not seen our waitress we had to flag someone down again to get our check. The food is good, but it is nothing to rave about, it is “diner food” and comes with a decent portion and reasonable prices.

Coffee is $2.39 with free refills
Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice – $2.75 small or $3.75 large (no free refills)
Steak Benedict – $13.99 – overloaded with onion and mushrooms.
Country Fried Steak $11.50
